No Smoking

The County Council has introduced a Smokefree policy, which was implemented in full on Monday 23 May, 2016.

The policy aims to simplify and strengthen the County Council’s existing approach by not allowing people to smoke at any time while at work.

The policy means that during working hours, employees will be expected to be Smokefree. Working time includes all paid hours worked and excludes unpaid lunch breaks.  Working time also includes time spent travelling on council business. Smoking breaks during work time are not permitted.  Use of flexitime for smoking breaks is also not permitted.
