If employees are at risk of redundancy the Council is required by law to issue a Section 188 Notice. A Section 188 Notice lists all posts that it is proposed will potentially be deleted.
This is to identify alternative ways to make the savings required and to look at ways to minimise the number of compulsory redundancies arising through redeployment, the vacancy protocol or voluntary redundancy.
The issue of a Notice does not mark the date when decisions about the number of posts that will be deleted will be taken.
Section 188 Notice published 28 February 2012

The posts at risk include:

- 27.5 in Environment and Resources
